There are many ways to help!

Volunteers are always needed!

Here are just a few of events/projects/programs that could use your help:

Library — Our volunteer librarians are our front line volunteers, answering the phone and  greeting visitors. Librarians commit to opening the library once a week (10:00 am to noon, or 5:30 to 7:00 pm). You do not need to know how to be a librarian. We'll show you the ropes!

Events — Help is always needed for our events, including the Winter Flea Market, annual Run to the Center of the World Half Marathon & 5K, Winter Coat Drive, and more. FONT volunteers also staff a sag stop during the Apple Cider Century Bike Ride held every September.

Trail Building & Maintenance — Did you know we have built and maintain walking trails in the woods behind the Community Center? More trails are being planned. If you like outdoor work, this is for you!

Flower Beds and Lawn Maintenance — You could take turn mowing the lawn, pull weeds from the flower beds or help with flower planting. Landscaping is also being planned that will make the most of our gazebo.

Building Maintenance — Whether you like to paint, clean or wash windows, we need you!

Website and Social Media — Yep, that's all done by volunteers too. Got some ideas to improve our online presence? Want to help make it happen? Great! Contact us!

Fund Raisers — Ideas for new events are always welcome, especially if you want to help make it happen.

To volunteer for any of the above or make a suggestion, e-mail info@friendsofnewtroy.org.

Come to a meeting!

This is the best way to get involved. By sitting in on one of our monthly meetings, you'll gain an understanding of the needs and challenges we face, and maybe you'll have an idea that helps us improve.

Membership meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month, at 7:00 p.m. in the Library. You do not need to be a member to attend. Everybody's opinion is welcome!

Become a member!

For just $20 (individual) or $30 (family), you can become a Friends of New Troy member.

As a member, you will be welcome – but not required – to participate in meetings and help out at events.

Growing a Community Center, one leaf at a time. Permanently moutned in the New Troy Community Center, the Giving Tree will be the first thing people see when they eneter the building. This impressive tree will flourish with 100 brass leaves engraved with the names of those who contributed $1,000 to the The Giving Tree Capital Fund Campaign.

UPDATE: IN THE WINTER OF 2018/2019, ONE LAST GENEROUS COUPLE (WHO WISH TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS) PURCHASED ENOUGH GIVING TREE LEAVES TO ENABLE US TO PAY OFF THE MORTGAGE ON THE COMMUNITY CENTER. FROM NOW ON, EVERY DOLLAR RAISED WILL BE PUT INTO BUILDING AND GROUNDS REPAIRS, COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND EVENTS, AND EQUIPMENT. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED!
